TOGETHER, WE SUCCEED!

At Waggoner Elementary our mission is to support all students to be critical thinkers and compassionate citizens. We are committed to helping students succeed - academically, socially, and emotionally.

Beginning in our Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs, we prepare children to be readers, writers and mathematical problem solvers. We challenge all students to meet rigorous grade level standards and do so in developmentally appropriate and supportive ways. Most importantly, we want students to love learning and enjoy coming to school.

Each week, students have the opportunity to actively explore science, technology, engineering, art/agriculture and mathematics in our S.T.E.A.M. Labs, MakerSpaces, and School Gardens. Students also participate in weekly classes where they get to sing, dance, make music!

We use technology as a tool to help students practice skills, explore the world, and become digital citizens. Chromebooks are utilized in all classrooms.

Additionally, we teach students social-thinking skills and help them develop mindsets for learning, including persistence, resilience, flexibility, empathy, and optimism. Ultimately, we want to empower students with the confidence and competence to pursue their dreams.

All Waggoner students benefit from the many parents and community members that support our school. There is an active PTA, School Site Council, English Learner Advisory Committee, and Migrant Parent Group.

We encourage you to visit and see the many great things that are happening at our schools!

WE CELEBRATE STUDENTS!

At Waggoner, we encourage students to demonstrate the Waggoner W.A.V.E. and to: Work hard; Always be kind; Value others; and Expect the best!  We teach lessons that showcase the importance of these traits and recognize students for their hard work and achievement.
